About the Hosts

Tim Hoover

Tim Hoover

Tim has been teaching and training in the martial arts for over four decades. Since the early '80s he has been at the helm of Hoover Karate Academy โ€” an institution in the Lehigh Valley of Pennsylvania (just north of Philadelphia). He is the creator of a reality-based system that focuses on the practical knowledge and application of the martial arts. For many years he was the Senior Executive Security Director for a prominent department store. He is also a licensed private investigator and for over 30 years has owned and operated a private detective agency providing undercover detectives, surveillance, security, and information services for individuals and businesses. Tim formed the Kids4Kids nonprofit organization โ€” providing free karate classes to children, and instilling much-needed confidence and discipline in the participating youth. In turn, they were able to become strong adults in the community. He shares his numerous years of martial arts training, along with teaching many thousands of students, and wisdom obtained through real-life experiences in interrogations and the covert operations field with Attack Life Not Others.

Steve Mittman

Steve began training under Sensei Hoover when he was 12 and earned a black belt as a teen. His passion for fighting led him to boxing. He's trained with several champions, and was a professional boxing and MMA ring announcer for 20 years. He's even worked for two legendary Heavyweight Champions โ€” Larry Holmes and Mike Tyson. He ran an intensive kickboxing program for many years, and currently instructs a self-protection combatives system. He was seen by millions of viewers daily as he hosted and produced lifestyle, pop-culture, celebrity, music, and history segments on a TV station in the Philadelphia market. He's also a Guest Host on QVC and HSN, a functional health advisor, a brand ambassador and spokesperson for multiple companies and products on TV and the internet, a professional voiceover artist, a digital marketing consultant, and has hosted hundreds of LIVE events on networks including NBC, ESPN, Comcast, and for iHeartRadio. Steve owns and operates Mittman Media โ€” a podcast production, SEO/AEO/GEO, web design, and digital marketing agency.
