When you do something — anything at all — for a long time and you’re passionate about it, there’s a tendency to expect others to do it too. Because it’s become routine for you, and you’re comfortable with it, it can be hard to imagine that may not be the case for everyone. Rather than always being the one speaking, be sure to listen as well.

Being consistent dictates results, but of course it’s easy to be consistent with something that you’re good at and you enjoy doing. Learning to get comfortable in uncomfortable situations keeps us humble and more relatable — strengthening our relationships. Realizing where others are coming from takes understanding, awareness, and an ego check.
